Marvel Rivals will feature Devil Dinosaur as the main highlight of Season 8. NetEase Games confirmed the arrival of the new Vanguard on May 15, alongside balance changes, technical improvements, and a new map for the competitive Doom Match mode.
The announcement was made during “Dev Vision Vol. 17,” released this Monday (12). In addition, the developer revealed new details about the character’s abilities, which will focus on aggressive combat and area control.
Devil Dinosaur focuses on offensive pressure
The new character will feature bite attacks, a defensive shield, and an Ultimate ability based on a charging attack. During battles, Devil Dinosaur will be able to inflict bleeding effects on opponents and pressure enemies at close range.
NetEase also confirmed an alternative long-range attack. The ability uses an energy beam capable of knocking down distant targets and creating opportunities for team attacks.
Another standout feature will be the mechanic that allows Devil Dinosaur to grab enemies affected by bleeding. This ability temporarily removes players from combat and helps reorganize the team’s offensive push.
Devil Dinosaur will team up with The Punisher
Season 8 will also introduce a Team-Up ability between Devil Dinosaur and The Punisher. During the combined action, the character will be able to ride the dinosaur to gain damage reduction while continuing to attack.
According to the developer, part of the healing and damage taken will be shared between both characters. The new feature expands the strategic possibilities within competitive matches.
Marvel Rivals receives new map and improvements
In addition to the new Vanguard, Marvel Rivals will receive the Alchemax Headquarters map on May 28. The arena will be available in Doom Match, the game’s free-for-all mode.
The update will also bring buffs, nerfs, and adjustments to characters such as Emma Frost, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Mantis, and Rocket Raccoon.
On PC, players will be able to remove HD textures to free up around 35 GB of storage space. For those looking for more stable matches, services like NoPing can also help reduce high ping, prevent packet loss, and improve connections in competitive online games with a free trial.
